Children's Library

The children's library is located in the Franklyn Thompson Room.

The Children's room offers an array of fun and interesting items. Three computers are available for children under 12. These computers are not internet accessible. Instead these computers are load with age appropriate learning games. Besides rows of picture books, juvenile fiction, juvenile non-fiction, giant books, books on tape and CDs, the room has puzzles, blocks and a wide variety of children's magazines. A special section contains many books in Spanish and Japanese.

The "Summer Reading Program" begins in mid June and continues for six weeks. The programs are usually scheduled on Wednesday mornings at 10 am, but be sure to call the library to confirm dates and times. The theme for the Summer Program 2007 is "Join the Rompin', Stompin' Reading Wranglers".

The "Pre School" story hour is each Thursday at 10am. Children from lap sit to five years old enjoy singing, dancing, story telling, and making crafts. Guardians need to stay with their children and enjoy the hour with them.

"Imagination Library" is available to all children living in Henry County and who are between the ages of birth and five years old. This wonderful program delivers an age appropriate book straight to your mailbox each month until the child's fifth birthday. There is no charge. Please sign up for this service at the Paris Post Intelligencer newspaper office on West Wood Street.
